NG Associates · Practice Area
NG Associates appears in criminal matters at the Rohini Courts, other Delhi District Courts, the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India. Our chambers are in Block 1, Lawyers’ Chambers, Rohini Court Complex, New Delhi.
Since 1 July 2024, criminal cases are governed by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Offences committed before that date continue under the IPC and CrPC. We work under both sets of laws.
Regular bail is sought after a person has been arrested. Anticipatory bail is sought before arrest, when a person apprehends arrest in a non-bailable offence.
The Delhi High Court can quash an FIR or criminal proceedings in suitable cases, for example where no offence is made out or where parties have settled certain disputes.
It depends on the date of the alleged offence. Offences before 1 July 2024 are tried under the IPC; later offences fall under the BNS.
